Where I am From

I am from the telephone cables
you can see out the window.

I am from the rainy days
from the hot fires
and the smell of hot chocolate.

I am from my mum's perfume
from my parents' love and help.

I am from my grandmother
who came all the way from England to see me
from my bunny Emily she gave me.

I am from my grandparents dogs
their soft fur
and their barking.

I am from the multicoloured jumpers
my grandmother makes.

I am from my first holiday in Mallorca
from the first time on an aeroplane to England.

I am from the "be careful with the cars"
from the "please and thankyou's"
and from the "we love you just the way you are".
